Established in 1985, the Emory Law Distinguished Alumni Award is given to an alumna/us who embodies the values of the school and has demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the legal profession and in service to society. Past recipients have achieved notable success and made a difference through their professional and personal endeavors to advance the global practice, impact, and understanding of law.
The Trailblazer Award commemorates Eléonore Raoul 1920L, the first woman admitted to Emory University, who became a national leader in the women’s suffrage movement. It can be awarded to any Emory Law alumnus who has blazed a trail for women through their own professional and personal endeavors.
The Alumni Service Award honors an alumna/us who has contributed significant, sustained leadership and outstanding service to Emory Law community. Award recipients typically represent alumni who have made Emory Law a priority for service and have contributed a lasting legacy. Nominees are evaluated based on criteria including their: • Notable leadership and extraordinary volunteer activity • Achievements in supporting and enhancing the school community through alumni activities, peer fundraising, student and alumni mentorship, and promotion of the school’s well-being • Exceptional contributions of time, advice, and expertise in service to the school
The Young Alumni Award recognizes the professional and personal achievement of an alumna/us who graduated within the past 15 years and has made notable leadership and service contributions to Emory Law and to the legal profession. Nominees for this award are considered on the basis of their: • Leadership and active involvement within their professional and personal environments
• Contributions to supporting and enhancing the Emory Law community
• Support and development of peers in the early stages of a career in the law
