Join us on November 14th from 11am-3pm PST to work with ACS Cancer Action Network as part of the American Cancer Society to thank donors for supporting cancer patients and doing research on current statistics related to cancer and disease in the Pacific Northwest.
This project will help solidify resources for the resources ACS will be giving to families and those affected by cancer in the Portland metropolitan area. As the date for the project nears, the project lead will send a Zoom link to have alumni join and connect with American Cancer Society community coordinators.

Hosted by Atlanta Young Alumni, create supplies to help protect vulnerable individuals or organizations through the Atlanta Beats COVID organization.
Alumni will pick up supplies from Miller Ward Alumni House to make masks, gowns, or face shields. Participants will make the equipment at their home and return them once completed. Specific instructions including pick up and drop off times will be emailed to all registrants once supplies are obtained from the organization. Pick up and drop off will have no face to face interaction.

During the month of October through November 14th, volunteers make homemade, hand-written greeting cards to local Meals on Wheels program. Volunteers can then drop off their cards at one of the designated locations by 11/14/20. The cards will be collected and mailed off to our local Meals on Wheels. We are matched with Wheels of Coweta in Newnan, GA. Program will then deliver the cards to seniors alongside their nutritious meals.
Before the pandemic hit, 1 in 4 seniors lived alone in the country. Limited mobility can make this social isolation even worse for homebound seniors, often leading to loneliness and depression that can lead to a decline in health and overall quality of life. But you can change that! With a simple gesture of a hand-crafted card, you can make a difference for homebound seniors across the country and remind them that they are not alone.
Card making guidelines:
- Use colorful paper, pens, pencils, crayons, etc.
- Please NO glitter
- Handmade cards are most appreciated
- Use big letters that are easy to read – printing is easiest for most people to read
- Use encouraging messages that apply to anyone
- Please NO religious notes
- Envelopes are optional but in no way required. If using envelopes, please DO NOT seal them
- Your signature Is not required – if signing, please use “Your Friend” or only your first name

A study by Northeastern University shows that students who do not read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to leave high school without a diploma than proficient readers. So we can be most effective in decreasing the dropout rate by tutoring elementary age students and showing parents the value of education.

La Casa Norte's mission is to serve youth (ages 16 - 24) and families confronting homelessness. They provide access to stable housing and deliver comprehensive services that act as a catalyst to transform lives and communities.
We will participate in a variety of activities including: writing encouraging notes, researching housing properties for current clients who will transition to home ownership, and donating items.

Item restrictions include no aerosol containers, no glass containers, no pump or spray bottles, and all items must be in plastic containers.

Join us for a fun filled passion-driven virtual event to support the legendary Emory Cares International Service Day event!
Our nonprofit Founder, Nadia Surrency is an Emory Law alumnus and served as the student-elected President at Emory Law! She started the Surrency Foundation because she believes in the power of community! We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquarter in Sandy Springs, Georgia. We help assist young girls in the Atlanta community to make positive changeovers into their post-secondary education, develop entrepreneurship skills with our relevant and highly engaging programs.
The current pandemic has caused the world to shift and pivot our efforts. We want to acknowledge the kids in foster care that may be feeling alone during this difficult time. Also, children around the world were forced to be home-schooled, so we want to bring in motivational speakers to provide children and parents with some encouraging words/mentorship.
We will have different break-out rooms with different activities and fun music:
- Draw Online Whiteboard Group Session: Write encouraging notes or use our online software to draw positive pictures for kids in foster care homes. We will print your notes and pictures and mail to the foster kids. (This activity is replacing our onsite arts & craft paint day).
- Virtual Speakers: We will have different virtual speakers to discuss various topics in a microlearning style.
- Create Videos: Record positive messages for us to upload to our Surrency Foundation YouTube and share the link with kids in foster care.
- Get Mentored: We will have mentors from different industries available to virtually provide advice, encouragement or mentorship to you in a 1-5 minutes private session on Zoom.

This is a volunteer-opportunity servicing the Emory community, in particular the creative community. Volunteers will contribute to a project titled CREATIVITY+, which is a video series showcasing creative career paths.
WORK: During the designated Emory Cares period, volunteers can sign up to do one of three things: (1) be interviewed and recorded via Zoom, (2) interview and record an interview, or (3) assist with behind-the-scenes actions like designing graphics for the video series, editing interview videos, or acting as the technical support on Zoom sessions.
Those being interviewed will be Emory alumni who either (a) graduated with a creative degree and have a career in the creative field, (b) graduated with a creative degree but have a career in a different field, or (c) are heavily involved in creative endeavors but neither graduated with a creative degree nor have a career in a creative field. The entire experience will be virtual. All volunteers will be contacted by the project co-leads via email and Zoom call to coordinate logistics.
The goal of the project is to produce a series of videos that give insight and clarity into what a creative pursuit in college and beyond can look like. Creative pathways are hard to define and even harder to obtain information about, so the hope is that this video series can bridge the information gap individuals with interests in this field often have. To this end, as there really is no traditional pathway in this field, the larger goal of the project is to illustrate the idea that there are many non-traditional forms of success available to all.

We will deliver a short interactive lesson plan to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in an Afterschool Program delivered by New American Pathways. Lesson plan is around College and Careers. A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants. Additionally, a one hour orientation is required before service. The specific date of the orientation will be based on the availability of volunteers. New American Pathways services support new Americans on their individual pathways from arrival through citizenship with programs that focus on four key milestones along the pathway – Safety & Stability, Self-Sufficiency, Success, and Service. Programs work in concert to guide new Americans on their individual pathways to long-term success.

Broward Partnership helps individuals and families find their way back from homelessness since 1999. At this time, the Broward Partnership is in need of "cleaning supplies". These items help their program participants get off to a good “clean” start as they move on to independent living outside the shelter.
Suggested items include buckets, sponges, all-purpose cleaner, dish soap, bathroom cleaner, laundry soap (and anything else you think might be needed as our families move into a new home).
There are 2 ways to participate in this supply drive:

Dress for Success' mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life, including trainings from their corporate partners. This drive aims to serve an immediate need for their clients to have the proper undergarments, particularly bras that are new with tags. Many of their clients attend job and internship interviews with the most basic of literal support: bras.
Let’s have fun by supporting women and contributing to a unique supply drive! DFS is looking for bras with extended sizes: 44+ with any cup size C or greater. DFS would also accept gently used accessories like purses and jewelry.

Are you ready to explore the outdoors and show off your photography skills, all while helping a worthy cause? This year, Emory Cares - Gainesville will volunteer virtually in the form of a photo contest at Alachua Conservation Trust’s (ACT) public parks and preserves. ACT’s mission is to protect the natural, historic, scenic and recreational resources in and around North Central Florida. All you need for the contest is your camera or smart phone and a sense of adventure! And you might win one of three prizes and bragging rights. All registered participants will receive an Emory Cares face mask!
Emory Alumni and anyone else who is interested are welcome to participate.
To Participate:

On Saturday, November 14th from 10am PST to 12pm PST help the hungry find food by calling, emailing, and researching food pantries and soup kitchens for Food Oasis over Zoom. The morning starts with a training where you'll learn about food insecurity and also how to gather the needed information. After that, you'll all spend an hour doing independent research. Finally, all volunteers will regroup to discuss.
Los Angeles county has the largest number of food insecure people in the nation and yet wastes over one million tons of food a year! Your research will put mechanisms in place to stop that. The project lead will follow up with the Zoom link shortly.

For the past two decades, the Latino Youth Leadership Conference has inspired middle and high school students from across Georgia to pursue higher education and follow their dreams. The Latino Youth Leadership Conference, now in its 21st year, provides Latino students with the tools they need to access post-secondary education, develop leadership skills and explore careers.
The Latinx Network is supporting LYLC this year by virtually reviewing stories submitted from 9th-12th graders in workshops called "Stories on a Line, in a Circle, Out in the World," and "Discovering and Creating Your Story." Both workshops help students explore their own story and identity and make great college essays!

Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a community-based nonprofit that provides food, medical, and financial assistance to meet basic human needs as well as education, job training, and guidance to create self-sufficiency. At this time, BHH is in need of "non-perishable food items". They serve six hot, nutritious lunches and one Family Night dinner each week, and distribute over 5,000 pantry bags a month - and they need our help!
Suggested items include Beans, Canned Fruits, Canned Meat, Canned Vegetables, Cereal Boxes, Cereal Bars, Crackers, Chef Boyardee, Jelly, Box/Can Milk, Pasta, Peanut Butter, Powdered Juice, Rice, Soup, Tomato Sauce.
There are 2 ways to participate in this food drive:
- Direct Drop Off: Volunteers can bring the items to donate directly to their location (1500 NW 1st Court, Boca Raton, FL 33432) from November 1-30 on Monday through Friday 9 AM – 3:30 PM. If you choose to deliver the food items directly, please let the organization know you are representing the Emory Alumni Association and provide your name. Let's support youth experiencing homelessness in Broward County!

We will be sending letters to incarcerated survivors of domestic, intimate partner and gender-based violence in anticipation of the holiday seasons. Writing letters to criminalized survivors helps to dismantle isolation, creating pathways for connection, collaboration, and coalition. Currently & formerly incarcerated survivors have stated again and again how important letters of support are to relationship building and their well-being.
The event will be hosted on Zoom on November 14th from 11am-2pm EDT. Registrants will receive the Zoom invite, a card, and a stamp in advance of the event.

The Emory Alumni Boston Network will engage in a letter/card writing program for Boston Healthcare for the Homeless (BHCHP) for Emory Cares Day. Our goal is to write 100 letters for BHCHP that bring uplift, hope, and promotion of mental well-being for individuals served by BHCHP. Project lead will follow up on the information on logistics for the letters.
Registrants will also receive important insights and statistics about the mental health burden during the pandemic will be highlighted, and potentially results from the research conducted at BHCHP.

Because the elderly community is more vulnerable to COVID-19, they are potentially facing more isolation within their communities. The goal of this project is to provide additional support and connection through written letters. Our hope is that these letters can brighten their day during these difficult times.
We will be partnering with Love For Our Elders, a United States-based nonprofit organization that aims to alleviate social isolation among older adults. We will be working on their Letters of Love project. Through this project, we will be writing handwritten letters which will be distributed by Love for Our Elderly to older adults in senior communities across the globe. The Alumni Women of Emory Book Club would like to help support literacy for the month of November by book purchases or book donations through the organization Better World Books. Since its launch in 2003, Better World Books has raised more than $27 million for libraries and literacy, donated over 26 million books, and reused or recycled over 300 million books.
It’s simple: Every time you purchase a book from www.betterworldbooks.com, they donate a book to someone in need. Find some books to read yourself, or do your holiday shopping knowing that you are also helping others.
In addition, you can donate your old books. Better World Books brings new life to used books ensuring each book continues to make an impact. Each Drop Box supports the non-profit literacy partner(s) indicated on the Drop Box. Non-profit literacy partners include Books for Africa, Room to Read, National Center for Families Learning and local libraries among others. As part of their commitment to environmental sustainability, they never, ever throw away a book. Books that cannot be sold or donated are recycled and converted in to pulp for new products such as brown tissue, cardboard, or even new book covers. There are lots of donation drop boxes located around Atlanta and all over the U.S. and overseas. Some locations near Emory are Toco Hills Shopping Center, Loehmann's Plaza, and Carl G. Easy to learn and gamified! Take a few hours this November to map buildings and roads that will help bring disaster COVID-19 relief to remote areas. Each year, disasters around the world kill nearly 100,000 and affect or displace 200 million people. Many of the places where these disasters occur are literally 'missing' from any map and first responders lack the information to make valuable decisions regarding relief efforts. Missing Maps is an open, collaborative project in which you can help to map areas where humanitarian organizations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.

Lotus House is an organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless women, youth and children. They provide sanctuary, support, education, tools and resources that empower them to heal, learn, grow and blossom into who they are truly meant to be.

West Adams Prep High School Business Academy & LA Promise Fund's Career Pathway Connection will be hosting a virtual mock interview event on Thursday, November 12th from either 9:00am - 11:00am or 12:30pm - 2:30pm PST.
We need professionals from different industries to conduct mock interviews for South LA high school students to assist them with preparing for real-life future career and college interviews. LA Promise Fund will provide the volunteers with a rubric, a list of questions to ask, and pre-training, as well as other supportive documents to help prepare the professionals to conduct successful interviews with student participants.
Volunteers will join the event 30 minutes early to review all procedures and so that LAPF can answer any volunteer questions and support the professionals. After the 30-minute training, professionals will virtually interview students.

One of our most beloved Emory traditions is fast approaching: Emory Cares! With the pandemic, it will look a little different this year, but we still have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact to Nashville. Even more so than past years, our support and involvement will make a great difference for those facing hardships right now. We have found an option that is socially distanced and helps a great organization. Read below!!
Safe Haven Family Shelter is a shelter for families experiencing homelessness and is one of the few options for families in such a situation. They help find housing, employment and work to have meaningful activities for the kids. My family has been volunteering there for many years and we are very impressed with the organization. The Emory network is supporting Safe Haven Family Shelter by participating in the 16th Annual Hike for the Homeless, a virtual event.
This year's Hike is a virtual event with everyone hiking on the same day, Saturday, November 7. Families and friends can choose to hike together or on their own, with their dogs, in their neighborhood or at a park. Everyone can hike their own way! The week leading up to the event will feature some favorite parts of the Hike presented virtually. Register for the team through the link in the confirmation email.

Bring warmth, conversation, and social connection to local older adults in isolation due to COVID-19. Volunteers will be matched with DOROT elders for phone visits once or twice a week for the month of November. This is a significant and meaningful opportunity for intergenerational connection and friendship. DOROT is a nonprofit organization which provides concrete services to the elderly and thereby keeps them engaged in the local community. Their diverse set of programs has ensured that their clients have access to the resources they need to age with dignity, independence, and grace.

Remind New Yorkers to head to the polls and vote on election day. In conjunction with NYC Votes, volunteers will text voters and deliver a nonpartisan voting themed message and provide information about voting. GOTV texts is a great way to be civically engaged. Closer to the date of the text bank you will receive a training and a link to create a secure account to the texting platform being used.

Serve as a Call Center Dispatcher or Operator for Invisible Hands. This recently formed non-profit organization began as a Facebook post - an offer from three twenty-somethings to help deliver groceries as COVID-19 began to spread throughout NYC. In just three months, they organized over 10,000 volunteers and delivered over $1,000,000 in food, medicine, and other necessities to those most vulnerable throughout NY, NJ, Philadelphia, and Atlanta.
Sign up for a shift with the “Captain Delivery” dispatch team assigning orders to volunteers or with the Call Center helping recipients place orders. Alumni who are multilingual can put their skills to work assisting non-English speaking recipients place orders or by interpreting between delivery volunteers and their recipients. This project offers flexibility with 3 shift options on Emory Cares Day! The project lead will follow up on how to select shifts.

Covid-19 has presented obvious problems and hardships to everyone. So many were already facing difficult circumstances only then compounded by the virus. While we are at home, surrounded by our belongings, let's have a virtual activity to care for others. During the weekend of Emory Cares, I invite you to take stock of some of your possessions and gather some of the unused items to donate to a nearby donation center of your choice.
Some things to consider while gathering items:
- Professional clothing - suits, dresses, gently worn items and shoes; if you're not utilizing them and someone could use them for a job interview, consider letting them go and let someone else look fantastic in your style.
- It might be helpful to ask yourself if you're holding onto something really nice to utilize for a rainy day or "someday" that someone else could be using today.
- Think of all facets of your clutter - home, garage, children's clothing, toys, bicycles, school supplies, non-perishable foods, tools, or (gasp) maybe some of those dusty textbooks/novels from Emory courses! Knowledge is power, after all.

Continuing the Oxford tradition, we will support the Newton County Department of Family & Children Services. Instead of gathering to assemble boxes, we are asking volunteers to drop off already made boxes to distribute to kids in needs.
The shoe boxes are generally filled with personal hygiene items (travel size tooth paste, toothbrush, body wash, etc) and some fun items like coloring books.
Please wrap your box in any sort of decorative paper and attach a note indicating if the box is gender specific. Registrants can enter the student center and leave their items in the drop off box located in the lobby.

Missing Maps uses remote volunteers to help make maps from satellite images to aid in disaster relief, providing organizations such as the Red Cross with maps that otherwise wouldn't exist to assist their disaster relief efforts including COVID. Takes just a few minutes to learn, and it even has an app MapSwipe!
Zooniverse uses remote volunteers to collect data from camera footage of animal habitats and more! Zooniverse enables everyone to take part in real cutting edge research and creates opportunities for you to unlock answers and contribute to real discoveries. Many projects are kid-friendly!

Make sack lunches to drop off at Blanchet House! The Emory Portland Network is signed up to deliver 100 sack lunches to Blanchet House on Saturday, Nov. 14th between 8:30am-11am PDT.
Each volunteer will be asked to make 10 sack lunches (if multiple people from your household sign up, each individual is responsible for 10 sack lunches). Sack lunches should be packed in brown paper bags. Each sack lunch needs to include:
- 1 sandwich (PB&J or a deli sandwich)
- 1 fruit serving (orange, pre-packaged apple slices, or a fruit cup with a utensil included)
- 2 store-bought wrapped snacks (chips, string cheese, individually wrapped cookies, soft/chewy granola bar, raisins, etc.)
- 1 napkin
Label the sack lunch - write the type of sandwich you made on the outside of the bag. Feel free to decorate the bags if you'd like! The meal guests appreciate the art and words of hope.
Please note:
- No beverages
- Avoid hard, crunchy foods (such as whole apples, carrots, hard granola bars) as these can be difficult for guests
- Do not make more sack lunches than you/your household have signed up for - Blanchet House appreciates your generosity, but they have limited cooler space to store the sack lunches
Please ensure you are assembling the sack lunches in a safe and sanitary environment. - If anyone in your household is sick or shows symptoms of illness, please refrain from making sack lunches and contact the project lead to ensure that your sack lunches are accounted for - Sanitize/clean all surfaces and tools - Wash your hands and wear gloves - if you do not have access to gloves, please contact the project lead in advance and gloves will be mailed to you.
Blanchet House provides food, clothing, and housing programs to people in need. As Blanchet House navigated the COVID-19 crisis, they introduced the sack lunch meal program. This has allowed volunteers to safely prepare ready-to-go meals from their homes that can be easily dropped off Blanchet House to then be distributed to guests. The sack lunches help Blanchet House provide nutritious meals to people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and hunger. Sack lunches are distributed to Blanchet House guests at their facility and to individuals in partner shelters.
The CPC team has been working with high school students on professional development skills, including creating resumes and cover letters, professional interviewing and more. We are seeking volunteers to review our students' resumes and provide feedback via google docs which, after, we will share with the students. This can all be done remotely and throughout the day when you have time to do so. If volunteers are interested, we can also arrange for them to meet with students in a small virtual learning session to go over their resumes. Volunteers will receive detailed information, rubric, instructions, access to the resumes, and method to provide feedback for the students in follow up emails. Mentors play a hands-on role in each session, equipping entrepreneurs to better succeed by sharing valuable business insights; advising entrepreneurs on building and growing their business; and connecting entrepreneurs to strong, supportive networks. This opportunity starts in January and runs for 10 weekly sessions from 6-8PM.

Collectively, those microbusinesses account for 500+ jobs, 30 stores & offices, and nearly $12Min annual sales.
Start:ME engages 75+ volunteer mentors with significant professional business and/or entrepreneurial experience to provide critical support for entrepreneurs participating in the program.

Junior Achievement of South Florida offers the JA Fellows Company Program every year high school students in our area. This is a unique entrepreneurship program different from others that exist in our area. In addition to creating business plans like other entrepreneurial programs, JA Fellows students actually create a business product or service, capitalize their real businesses and run them throughout the program, which runs from September through April. They recognize real profits or losses and the reality of being responsible to shareholders. Students are mentored by community volunteers serving as mentors.
Volunteer schedule:
Total of 5 hours (one hour a week). Includes a 1 hour volunteer training, scheduled at your convenience and an e-introduction with the volunteer to the lead teacher and other volunteers before meeting the students.
Phase 2: From Nov 16 to Jan 15
Phase 3: From Jan 18 to Feb 22
Last year, with the help of 7,090 trained corporate and community volunteers who donated 38,383 hours of their time at a value of $976,079, JA delivered 1,070,440 program curriculum hours to 50,000 K-12th grade students at JA World Huizenga Center at the Lillian S. Wells Pavilion and in 270 schools throughout Broward and South Palm Beach County to K-12 in-class and specialized high school focused programming.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is the State’s largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization. Last Year, the FoodBank provided nutritious food for over 66 million meals through its network of over 1,000 community partners, including pantries, soup kitchens, mobile pantries, and child and senior feeding programs. Working with these partners, together with donors and volunteers, the FoodBank fills the emptiness caused by hunger with food, help and hope.

Bring a little sunshine into a senior’s day! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will shift to a no-contact event instead of an in-person service day. During the pandemic, many seniors who are residents and patients of Emory-affiliated facilities, such as Wesley Woods and the VA, are not able to visit with friends and families in person. Help us combat their loneliness by writing uplifting cards and letters to the residents. This is a great activity for families – kids can send drawings and their own stories. The more the better!
Your messages will be collected in a box in the covered parking garage of the Miller-Ward Alumni House, 815 Houston Mill Road during the month of November. Times will be emailed. Alternatively, contact the organizer to mail or drop off items in Cobb County.

Brought to you by the Switzerland Network, we will help promote and protect human rights around the world. By taking action, we can help save lives, change unfair laws, and secure the release of those who have been unlawfully imprisoned.
We will be volunteering to sign petitions and/or send letters in support of human rights causes through Amnesty International's Take Action program. We will have a group zoom call on 14 November from 10am to 11am Central European Standard Time to welcome volunteers and introduce the project. Afterwards, volunteers can participate in the project at any time on their own by accessing Amnesty International's Take Action page.

Covid-19 has not cancelled caring! Use your skills, knowledge and resources to support Dallas Independent School District elementary students today. United to Learn offers two virtual volunteer opportunities that we are focusing on this year:
- Family & Educator Needs
- Virtual Career Days
50 volunteers will make a tremendous impact in the lives of the elementary students - let's go! Let's make this the best year yet for Emory Cares-DFW Alumni Network!
Participants will go to the link on the confirmation email and register for the opportunity that they would like to do of the listed two. They can do it any time before Emory Cares Day (Nov. 14th) or the week after and then we will have the virtual reflection event on Nov. 21st so that everyone can discuss what they did and how it was. The project lead will invite participants to the virtual reflection event.

This year, the Upstate Emory community will not gather in-person, but we can still gather in spirit and in service. There are over 700 of us in the Upstate are...so let’s make an impact!
I have selected 4 organizations that have known supply needs around our region:
- Phillis Wheatley Community Center
- Food Banks in the Upstate
- Jasmine Road
- Miracle Hill Ministries
Pledge to donate supplies this November! All registrants will receive more information about these organizations and how to drop off supplies.
The above are suggestions for ways to gather in spirit and in service. But, you may have a favorite nonprofit in the area too, so let’s make an impact!
Thursday, November 12 | 5p.m. - 7p.m. EDT
The East Atlanta Kids Club is providing their youth with interesting and fun facts about various careers! They will have a “Virtual Fall Career Day” on November 12, 2020. The presentations will begin at 5:00pm and should be over by 7:00pm.
They need 6 volunteers to present for about 15 minutes and explain the duties of their careers to the children. Each presenter will also interact with students in breakout rooms based on industry. They encourage visuals to help the students understand what your career involves.
You will need to be available for the entire 2-hour period. In addition to the live presentation, the East Atlanta Kids Club would like for you to create a 60-second video on your career for them to use going forward.
If you are unable to join on November 12th, but would like to help, you can also make a 60-second video on Flipgrid discussing your career. All careers are welcome! Email Ally Wright at awrigh8@gmail.com for more information.

Emory Cares about YOU! Sponsored by CEBA but open to all, join us for one of 3 sessions to hear from different physicians and then pledge to get walking! Give back to your community by taking care of yourself and passing along relevant health information that you learn.
Walk with a Doc is a program that provides a no cost walking program for anyone interested in living a healthier lifestyle through Emory’s Urban Health Initiative. This year we will be hosting 3 virtual walks in the month of November. Walkers will be able to hear from different physicians through a Zoom talk before tracking their steps on the app StrideKick. Here walkers will be able to compare and complete walking distances.
Dates: Saturday, November 7th, Saturday, November 14th, Saturday, November 21st

Mentors play a vital role for children. Students are matched with volunteer mentors whose role is to help build self-esteem, improve academic skills, and keep them motivated in school and in life. After school mentors also play games, participate in activities, and have meaningful conversations with students. Volunteers are supported by EAKC and will be invited to attend an online where they will receive the official application form and the background check release form.
Virtual mentoring occurs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30pm - 5:30pm.
Mentoring occurs in the Fall and Spring.

Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) need us now more than ever! With your support, the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is working to protect the 37 million American adults with CKD, including 500,000 on dialysis and 10,000 waiting for a kidney transplant.
In addition, COVID-19 is causing acute kidney injury (AKI) in about 15% of all hospitalized coronavirus patients, many of whom now need dialysis. Raise funds, awareness, and dedicate a 3.7 mile walk in your neighborhood!
